Cuaresma champions digital transformation at National Governance Forum

BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya—Mayor Benjamin Cuaresma III represented the Municipality of Bambang at the Second Forum on Local Governance and Development, where he pledged to accelerate digital transformation initiatives aimed at delivering stronger, more responsive public service to his constituents.

The forum, centered on the theme “Reimagining Local Governance: Digital Transformation for Local Development,” brought together local chief executives and policymakers to explore how technology can reshape public service delivery.

Cuaresma emphasized that innovation is not merely about adopting new tools, but about ensuring government services become faster, more transparent, and more responsive to the needs of the people.

“The discussions highlighted that innovation is not just about technology—it is about delivering faster, more transparent, and more responsive services to the people,” Cuaresma said. “The Municipality of Bambang remains committed to embracing digital solutions that will strengthen governance, improve ease of doing business, and enhance emergency preparedness in the community.”

Cuaresma’s commitment aligns with national government thrusts to digitize local government operations, streamline business permits and licensing systems, and strengthen disaster risk reduction and management through technology.

He noted that Bambang’s local government has already begun laying the groundwork for digital reforms, including exploring online platforms for transactions, improving data management systems, and enhancing communication channels between the LGU and residents.

“Patuloy po tayong magtutulungan para sa mas maunlad, mas episyente, at mas matatag na Bambang,” Cuaresma added, underscoring the importance of collaboration between government, private sector, and citizens in achieving inclusive development.

The mayor’s participation in the forum signals Bambang’s intent to position itself as a model for digital governance in Nueva Vizcaya, with reforms expected to benefit not only businesses and residents but also strengthen community resilience in times of emergencies.
