13 tested positive for Covid-19 in Region 2

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (August 3)—There are additional 13 cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) as per latest confirmation of the Department of Health (DOH) Region 2.

Rio Magpantay, DOH Region 2 director, said of the new cases, 10 are from Isabela province, two in Nueva Vizcaya and one in Cagayan.

CV 326 is a 32-year-old female from Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya who is an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Saudi Arabia. She is asymptomatic and now at the quarantine facility of the local government unit (LGU).

CV 327 is a 30-year-old male from City of Ilagan, Isabela, a locally stranded individual (LSI) from Caloocan City. He is asymptomatic and now at the city’s quarantine facility.

CV 328 is a 30-year-old male from Pamplona, Cagayan, also an LSI from Mandaluyong City. He is asymptomatic and now at the LGU quarantine facility.

CV 329 is a 20-year-old female from City of Ilagan, Isabela, also an LSI from Caloocan City. He is asymptomatic and now at the city’s quarantine facility.

CV 330 is a 38-year-old female from Delfin Albano, Isabela, an LSI from Kawit, Cavite. She experienced colds and now at the LGU quarantine facility.

CV 331 is a 45-year-old female from Tumauini, Isabela, an OFW from Lebanon. She is also asymptomatic and at the LGU quarantine facility.

Magpantay said the next five cases are from Naguilian, Isabela who do not have travel histories but with exposure to CV 308, an LSI from Quezon City who experienced fever, colds and cough. All of them have attended the wake of their relative.

Of these, CV 332, who is a 59-year-old male is asymptomatic but with have diabetes mellitus.

CV 333 is a 21-year-old male and asymptomatic, CV 334 is an 85-year-old male who is asymptomatic but hypertensive, CV 335 is 53-year-old female who is also asymptomatic but has chronic kidney disease, and CV 336 is a 50-year-old female who is also asymptomatic.

All of them are on home quarantine, except for CV 333 who is now at the LGU quarantine facility.

CV 337 is a 56-year-old male from Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. He is asymptomatic but the surveillance team is still verifying his travel history and the quarantine facility where he is now being taken care of.

CV 338 is a 39-year-old female from Luna, Isabela, an OFW from the United Arab Emirates. She is asymptomatic and now at the LGU quarantine facility.

Magpantay said contact tracing is now being undertaken on the grounds by the local and health officials together with the officials from DILG and PNP to determine the close contacts of the newly determined COVID-19 positive cases.

As of now, there are already 342 cases confirmed by DOH in which 333 are the actual cases of the Cagayan Valley region while nine are listed for the National Capital Region. PIA
