Cayton, Gambito lead charge for ‘Brand New Nueva Vizcaya’

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—In a significant display of unity and commitment to progress, Congressman Timothy Joseph Cayton expressed his unwavering support, thanking Governor Jose “Jing” Gambito for his vision for the province, supporting a unified “Brand New Nueva Vizcaya.”

Cayton delivered his inaugural speech after taking his oath at the CMP Convention Center here on June 30, 2025 as the new congressman of the lone district of this province.

The congressman, who will be a newbie in the halls of Congress in his first term, emphasized in his speech that the concept of a “Brand New Nueva Vizcaya” is more than just a slogan, but a “shared vision for prosperity, development and progress.”

In his speech, he also highlighted his journey from being the mayor of Dupax del Norte to becoming a congressman. 

“When I assumed office as Mayor, I dreamed big for my town Dupax del Norte. Now that I am the Congressman, I dream even bigger for Nueva Vizcaya,” Cayton said adding that this vision aligns with Gambito’s call for unity, which he believes will lead to exponential progress in the province.

Emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation among provincial leaders, the congressman said that their joint commitment is crucial for the province’s continued progress. 

Despite coming from a different political party, Cayton joined the oath-taking ceremony of Gambito, also a first-termer governor, sharing a similar vision for Nueva Vizcaya’s future.

“My presence here in this historic event is a clear-cut indication that the congressman will extend his unwavering devotion to support the provincial government in materializing its mission-vision for the province,” the new congressman said.

As a leader, Cayton has consistently demonstrated his commitment to empowering the people of Nueva Vizcaya, particularly in Dupax del Norte town where he served as mayor for three consecutive terms.

As mayor, he implemented programs such as social services, providing social pensions for senior citizens and improving healthcare services; in education, by enhancing free education through educational assistance; in agriculture, by distributing palay seedlings and fertilizers to farmers; and in infrastructure, by implementing projects like concreting roads and installing streetlights, among others.

Cayton said that he envisions a “brand new leadership” for Nueva Vizcaya, characterized by a modern and 21st-century approach to governance. 

He believes that unity, cooperation and concerted effort are essential in achieving their goals and joining the call for unity is the first step towards a brand new Nueva Vizcaya.

With the overwhelming support and trust of the people, Cayton expressed his strong faith and confidence in Gambito’s leadership.

“I have that strong faith, abundance of confidence, and sky-is-the-limit courage that our good governor will lead us to the promise land as described in the mission vision of the province,” he said.

Cayton said that this unity and commitment to progress are expected to bring about a brighter future for the people of Nueva Vizcaya.
