DOH confirms 15 new Covid-19 cases

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (August 5)—The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 2 has confirmed 15 additional cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the Cagayan Valley region.

DOH Regional Director Rio Magpantay said eight of the cases are from Cagayan, six from Isabela and one from Nueva Vizcaya.

These include CV 357 who is a 54-year-old male from this city who doesn’t have any travel history and exposure to any positive case. He is an employee of DOH-Region 2 and now at the quarantine facility of the said regional office.

CV 357 is a 23-year-old female from the City of Ilagan, Isabela, a locally stranded individual (LSI) from Quezon City. She is asymptomatic and now at the LGU quarantine facility.

There are three new cases of Enrile, Cagayan which include CV 359, a 23-year-old male who traveled to Quezon City on July 29 and back to the said town on July 31.

CV 360 is a 35-year-old female and CV 361 is a 43-year-old male, both are LSIs from Quezon City. The three cases from Enrile town are asymptomatic and now at the LGU quarantine facility.

CV 362 is a 57-year-old male from Lal-lo, Cagayan, an LSI who came from Manila. He experienced dizziness, body weakening and blurring of vision. He is now at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center.

CV 363 is a 48-year-old male, a company bus driver who is a native of Benito Soliven, Isabela and working in a bus company in this city. He traveled four times from Tuguegarao City to Manila from July 16 to July 28. He experienced cough and fever, and now at the Bunk House of the bus company.

CV 364 is a 30-year-old male from Quezon, Isabela who traveled from Paranaque City and Bulacan while CV 365 is a 46-year-old female from Quirino, Isabela who came from Marikina. Both are asymptomatic and now at their respective LGU’s quarantine facility.

CV 366 is a 27-year-old male from this city, also an employee of DOH-Region 2 who doesn’t have travel history but he had exposure with CV 357. He experienced cough and colds and now at the quarantine facility of the said agency.

CV 367 is a 26-year-old male from Lal-lo, Cagayan who traveled from Antipolo, Rizal. He experienced cough and colds and now at the LGU quarantine facility.

CV 368 is an 8-month old male from Solano, Nueva Vizcaya. He came from Valenzuela City but he is asymptomatic and now at the LGU quarantine facility.

The last three cases are all from Gamu, Isabela who do not have travel history but all exposed to CV 311. These are CV 369, a 3-year-old male, CV 370, a 14-year-old male and CV 371, a 42-year-old male. All of them are asymptomatic and now at the LGU quarantine facility.

Magpantay said contact tracing is now being conducted in the municipalities where the new positive patients reside, including the areas were they traveled to determine their possible close contacts.

With this, there are already 375 cases confirmed by DOH in which 366 are actual cases in Region 2 while nine are for the National Capital Region. PIA
