Isabela govt launches community pantry

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (April 23)—Inspired by the noble objective of the community pantry that started in Quezon City, the provincial government of Isabela also launched its community pantry to help the needy Isabeleños in this time of the pandemic

The community pantry which was initiated by lawyer Noel Manuel Lopez provincial administrator and Marilyn Lopez, provincial internal audit and control officer initially benefited at least 800 beneficiaries composed of tricycle and jeepney drivers and some residents of barangay Alibagu with various grocery and agriculture products.

The community pantry also served 250 contractual employees from the provincial capitol, provincial security group members, utility workers and members of the Isabela Police Office.

The beneficiaries received canned goods, rice and noodles, vegetables, milkfish, eggs, salted eggs and other basic food needs for their families.

Lopez said they are grateful for the help of various donors who have shared grocery items, among others during this time of the pandemic.
