1,621 NVizcayanos avail DOH’s Covid-19 testing

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (September 20)—Health officials here said 1,621 villagers in five coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19)-affected towns recently availed of the free mass swab testing by the Department of Health (DOH) in collaboration with local government units.

Dr. Edwin Galapon, provincial health officer, said the activity which was conducted on September 12-13 served as a venue in the collection of swab specimens through the Aggressive Testing of contacts, sub-contacts and line contacts of confirmed Covid-19 cases in various municipalities.

“These activities were led by swab teams from the DOH, provincial and municipal government units,” he said.

Galapon said during the swab testing, 932 villagers came from the towns of Solano, 216 from Bagabag, 209 from Bayombong, 187 from Aritao and 77 from Dupax del Sur.

He said the aggressive testing activity aims to prevent the rapid spread of Covid-19 in the five towns through the containment of community and local transmission.
