British firm turns over buildings for host community schools

The barangay local government of Runruno in Quezon town, Vizcaya and FCF Minerals Corp. recently turned over a Multi-Purpose Hall to Runruno Elementary School and K-12 Workshop Building to the Runruno National High School. QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya (March 12)—British FCF Minerals Corporation has recently turned over P4 million worth of newly-completed building projects to schools in Barangay Runruno here.

James Carmichael, FCF Minerals Corp. country manager, said the more than P1.4 million Multi-Purpose Hall was turned over to the Runruno Elementary School (RES) and the more than P2.6 million K-12 Workshop Building was turned over to the Runruno National High School (RNHS).

He said the infrastructure projects were completed in the last quarter of 2021 under the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) of the Runruno Gold-Molybdenum Project (RGMP) of the company.

“These buildings were requested by the schools to provide more learning facilities for the students and their parents. We are sure that our school officials will take good care of it so other students can use them too,” Carmichael said.

RES Principal Michael Millan and RNHS Principal Georly Tugade expressed thanks to the FCF Minerals Corp. and assured the company of their part in maintaining the structures for the benefit of their students and the community.

Priest Loubert Agduyeng of St. Francis of Assisi here and Quezon town mayor Dolores Binwag witnessed the turnover of the infrastructure projects to the two schools in the village.

Barangay Captain John Babli-ing, Beth Tumaliuan and Engineer Demetrio Corsino from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau in Region 2 and Department of Education officials and members of the SDMP Technical Working Group and Program Management Committee of the Development of Mining Technology and Geosciences or DMTG program.
