DSWD releases P26.6M social pension for NVizcaya elderlies

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (August 9, 2024)—The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has distributed social pension benefits to poor elderly in this province.

Joseph Abella, DSWD Project Development Officer said P3,000 has been given to 8,881 elderly beneficiaries of the social pension covering the third quarter of this year.

He said the social pension was given to 1,197 elderlies of Quezon town, 1,717 in Villaverde town, 1,374 in Santa Fe town, 2,184 in Aritao town and 2,409 in Kasibu town.

Abella said the assistance of the local government units (LGUs) concerned hastened the delivery of the social pension to the elderly in the five municipalities of the province.

“With the LGUs’ help, we were able to distribute this social pension despite the recent typhoon that struck several provinces in our country,” he said.
