THE Forest Management Project (FMP) is expected to integrate conservation and development-oriented activities with full participation and capacitation of local communities and several people’s organizations (PO).
This is in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) project management offices and field implement units within the FMP-assisted sub-watershed areas in the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.
After eight years of implementation, it has improved POs’ knowledge of watershed management, conservation and governance.
However, technical writing skills in general among project staff members have to be improved, according to the recent competency assessment and training needs analysis or TNA results.
This has been identified as one of the training priorities for FMP-DENR staff in Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.
Thus, on June 2, a three-day workshop on technical writing, photo documentation and drone training kicked of which culminated on June 4.
This was in conjunction with the creation of a technical working group or TWG on FMP good practices and lessons learned documentation for determining roles and responsibilities in an action planning workshop.
The guidelines laid out in Technical Bulletin Number 18 will serve as the criteria for the documentation in this effort as part of its FMP knowledge management function and project completion in 2022.
It will be turned over to the local government units that have the mandate to maintain the agroforestry support infrastructures and sustain the program components such as reforestation, agroforestry and environment-friendly social enterprises.
