DAR hands P32-M bridge to Solano town

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (June 16)—The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Region 2 recently turned over a P32 million bridge in Solano town to link farmers faster to the market.

Engineer Rustico Turingan, Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer, said the turn-over of the Wacal Bridge in Solano town is part of the 34th year anniversary celebration of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program or CARP and the 50th year of Presidential Decree No. 27.

He said the Wacal Bridge project was funded under the “ Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlarang Pang-agraryo” or TPKP project of DAR in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways and the local government of Solano aims to provide a safe and comfortable bridge to link the farmers faster to the market.

Turingan said the 22.8 meters long and seven meters in width steel bridge can withstand all types of passing vehicles.

“This bridge project will benefit 3,500 villagers where 472 of them are among the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries,” he said.

Mayor Eufemia Dacayo and Rep. Luisa Cuaresma expressed thanks to the DAR for the Wacal Bridge project.

They said the Wacal Bridge project will inspire the farmers more to produce their agricultural products for their income and food security of Novo Vizcayanos.
