FCF conducts ALS literacy mapping in Runruno

QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya—FCF Mineral Corporation conducted house-to-house visits in all sitio (sub-villages of Barangay Runruno here to map out-of-school youths (OSYs), adults and children and encourage them to enroll in the alternative learning system (ALS) program for the school year 2024-2025.

From July 16 to August 2, 2024, eight literacy facilitators led by the FCF Minerals Corporation’s Community Relations Office Education team members Raquel Mallari, Junita Bayaona and Lailanie Rafael.

The team said this initiative aims to identify residents lacking full access to education and plan interventions for the ALS program composed of the Basic Literacy Program or BLP, Accreditation and Equivalency or A&E, and E-Learning Program.

With funding under the Social Development and Management Program or SDMP for seven years now, the barangay local unit of Runruno and the Department of Education in collaboration with FCF Minerals have been promoting inclusive and equitable quality lifelong learning opportunities for all.

This is to improve the living standards of communities in Runruno especially the vulnerable groups in upland communities, FCF Minerals said. LEANDER C. DOMINGO
