BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (August 30)—Lone Representative Luisa Cuaresma of this province has urged barangay (village) officials in the province to monitor infrastructure projects being constructed in their respective villages for transparency and accountability purposes.
“We are encouraging our barangay officials to monitor the implementation of various infrastructure projects in their respective barangays. This should also be your counterpart to make sure that these projects are implemented properly,” Cuaresma said.
Also vice chairperson of the Congress’ committee on appropriations, Cuaresma said she has sourced out funds for various infrastructure projects for the municipal and barangay local government units (LGUs) in the province that needs strict monitoring.
These are multi-purpose buildings, barangay halls, farm-to-market roads and public market buildings, among others, to address the needs of barangay and municipal local governments.
She said most of theses infrastructure projects implemented are supervised by the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Meanwhile, Cuaresma also vowed to provide additional personal protective equipment (PPE) to the province’s frontline health workers working to mitigate the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
“We have sourced out PPEs which will be distributed to the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center in Bayombong to augment their needs and to ensure their security from the dreaded Covid-19 while performing their duty to treat our patients,” she said.
