CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (September 21) – At least 30 Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) from the different barangays (villages) of this city including selected faculty members from Isabela State University (ISU) – Ilagan City campus undergo contact tracing training recently.
The training was implemented by the City Government of Ilagan in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) at Isabela School of Arts and Trades (ISAT) – Tesda.
Tesda Isabela head Demetrio Anduyan Jr. said the training aimed to capacitate the BHWs and BNS on the technical know-how of conducting contact tracing.
“We have targeted to train BHWs and BNS in the province on contact tracing knowing their capabilities and having the basic knowledge on implementing health and nutrition programs,” Andean said.
Meanwhile, ISAT-Tesda head Edwin Madarang has institutionalized Contact Tracing Training as a regular program of the institution while Southern Isabela College of Arts and Trades (SICAT) in Santiago City is currently working on the registration of the same program.
Madarang assured to aggressively implement trainings on Contact Tracing to help in the management and prevention of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the province.
