TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (August 18)—The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has assured its members that there will be no shutdown of its health insurance services following the alleged corruption controversy in the system.

Region 2 vice president Arsenia Torres said the fraudulent cases that are now being investigated in Congress are just pockets of issues involving some officials of the corporation and not a network.

“That is why we can assure our members and our clients that PhilHealth will continue its services as we are now doing our best to look into the solutions on the fraudulent cases,” Torres said.

She said they do appreciate the investigations initiated by Congress to put a stop on the alleged corruption that affect the entire corporation.

She also said they are looking into possible means to avoid repetition of the said fraudulent cases.

“I am also mad of corruption. We want this as we pray that the truth will come out,” Torres said adding that they are also cleaning their ranks to create a better corporation. PIA
