DICT to establish Tech4Ed center in Divilacan coastal town

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (May 3)—The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in Isabela has forged an agreement with the coastal town of Divilacan for the establishment of Technology Education, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (Tech4Ed).

The Tech4Ed is a program of DICT aimed to provide access points for individuals and communities to bridge the digital and education divide and to give communities access to information, communication, technology government services, non-formal education, skills training, telehealth, job markets and business portals even in remotest areas of the country.

The memorandum of agreement signing and turnover of equipment were made between DICT Isabela head Cirilo Gazzingan, Divilacan Mayor Venturito Bulan and Municipal Treasurer Mark Anthony Gonzales.

The DICT-Isabela field office has been providing free wi-fi internet connections in local government units in the province through the establishment of Tech4Ed centers and helping in the computerization of business permit and license applications and renewals.

Bulan expressed thanks to DICT Isabela for bringing its programs and services even the town is a hard-to-reach area of the province of Isabela.

He said with the internet services available in the town, communications and vital information for the growth and development of Divilacan residents will be pursued with the help of internet connectivity.
