BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (May 3)—The local government unit (LGU) of Dupax del Norte has put up its Community Pantry to provide free food requirements for its villagers, especially poor families.

Every day, poor villagers line up and wait for their queue to get their food items such as assorted vegetables, root crops, rice, canned goods, eggs, noodles, bread and biscuits, coffee, sugar and milk, among others.

Names of donors are also acknowledged inside the Community Pantry, alongside their donated goods while local government workers assist patronizers.

Mayor Timothy Cayton said their Community Pantry dubbed “Bayanihan sa Bayan ng Dupax del Norte,” located at the LGU Compound was conceived to provide free food requirements for the poor villagers during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We have started accepting donations on April 26 for our Community Pantry. We welcome donors, all are welcome to get available goods but please follow public health protocols always,” Cayton said.

The mayor also expressed his gratitude to the donors who continue to pour in various food items and goods that are being patronized by residents of Dupax del Norte town.
