Japanese university faculty-researchers appointed as adjunct professors in CLSU

NUEVA ECIJA (June 23)—Three faculty-researchers from Japanese universities have signed a notice of appointment (NoA) with Nueva Ecija-based Central Luzon State University (CLSU) to internationalize academic and research activities.

According to CLSU, Dr. Kyoko Watanabe and Dr. Koji Ishikawa from Tamagawa University, and Dr. Chiharu Nakashima from Mie University signed the NoA on June 14 to serve as adjunct professors in CLSU.

The NoA contains the designation of the adjunct professors who will teach specialized courses to graduate students from the College of Agriculture, College of Science, and College of Arts and Social Sciences.

During the signing, CLSU officials led by University President Edgar Orden warmly welcomed the Japanese professors who are expected to teach for the Academic Year 2022-2023.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Renato Reyes, Vice President for Administration Services, Dr. Danilo Vargas, Vice President for Research and Extension, Dr. Armando Espino Jr., and the University Board Secretary Jaypee De Guzman were also with the CLSU president to welcome them.

In his statement of commitment, Nakashima expressed his gratitude for the continuous partnership of the three Japanese institutions and for the opportunity to teach CLSU graduate students.

Orden expressed thanks and appreciation to the Tamagawa and Mie universities for hosting CLSU faculty and students in their respective schools.

“I look forward to more partnerships between the universities including sending of exchange faculty and students,” he said.
