QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya (February 10)—A P17.4 million barangay (village) hall to house the Runruno village local governed unit will soon rise with the help of a London-based company operating in the village.

Barangay Captain John Babli-ing said the structure was funded under the FCF Minerals Corporation’s mandated Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) being collaboratively implemented by the village council and the mining firm.

“This will be a symbol of our partnership for the progress and development of our barangay. From a very humble beginning up to this time, our dream of a progressive village is now being realized and that we are very thankful for the help of the mining company,” Babli-ing said.

Located around 300 kilometers north of Manila, FCF Minerals manages the Philippine government-sanctioned Runruno Gold-Molybdenum Project under a Financial and Technical Assistance Agreement or FTAA with an initial validity of 25 years.

The barangay hall is a two-story building with a roof deck. The construction started on August 20, 2020. It is expected to be completed this year.

Babli-ing said the barangay hall project was funded under the annual SDMP for  the year 2020-2021.
