QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya (April 30)—The Nueva Vizcaya Mushroom Growers Association (NVMGA) in collaboration with FCF Minerals Corp. and Barangay officials conducted a mushroom production training for the villagers in Barangay Runruno here.

John Babliing, Runruno barangay captain, said the training aims to impart technical knowledge of edible mushroom production as an alternative livelihood project for their community residents.

He said the mushroom production is a livelihood opportunity for their villagers, but they still need to learn the rudiments that will help them earn extra income for their families.

“The training covers preparation of mushroom housing and bed, maintenance and cost and return analysis. It was highlighted by mushroom processing demonstration among the participants,” Babliing said.

He also expressed thanks to the NVMGA for sharing their knowledge and expertise on mushroom production and processing as well as the continued support by FCF Minerals Corp. to the barangay residents.

“Through this training, we are able to capacitate our villagers as budding local entrepreneurs so that they can provide food and earn income for their families as well as provide a good education for their children,” Babliing said.
