QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya (December 1)—A total of 500 bamboo seedlings were planted within the Runruno-Gold Molybdenum Project area and at Barangay (village) Calaocan here during the celebration of the National Climate Change Consciousness Week.
This planting activity by the London-based FCF Minerals Corp. was part of the firm’s celebration of the National Climate Change Consciousness Week which is annually celebrated in November with the conduct of a symposium among villagers.
James Carmichael, FCF Minerals country manager, said the celebration on November 19-25 was led by their company’s Community Relations Office and the Mine Environmental Protection and Enhancement Office.
“We have conducted a series of awareness campaigns on climate change with the tree planting activities with FCF employees and a symposium attended by villagers,” Carmichael said.
He said the symposium entitled “Mitigating Climate Change, the FF Way” was an informative session aimed to roll out the milestones of achievements of the company’s various programs being implemented to address the general impact of climate change.
FCF Minerals which operates the Runruno-Gold Molybdenum Project in Runruno village here is 100 percent owned by the British Metals Exploration company.
