QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya (February 1, 2023)—To support community organizations’ green livelihood, FCF Minerals Corp. recently turned over a brick molding machine to workers of the Innovative Runruno Integrated Sustainable Earned from Waste (IRISE) project in Runruno village here.

IRISE is an income-generating project that produces hollow blocks and eco-bricks with a mixture of shredded plastics and pillows made of the same material.

Marcelo Samaco of FCF Minerals community relations office during the turnover was joined by the Runruno barangay local government unit (BLGU) council members Evelyn Mariano and Ronald as well as IRISE workers.

Samaco said this activity was funded under the FCF Minerals Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) in support of the implementation of Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Wastes Management Act of BLGU Runruno.

The London-based FCF Minerals said the SDMP is the comprehensive plan of the company authorized to conduct actual mining and milling operations towards the sustained improvement in the living standards of the host and neighboring communities.

The company said this is done by creating responsible, self-reliant and resource-based communities capable of developing, implementing and managing community development programs, projects, and activities in a manner consistent with the principle of people empowerment. LEANDER C. DOMINGO
