IT was a bright Christmas for seven barangay (villages) in the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino as they received as gifts during the turnover of seven farm-to-market roads (FMRs) projects by OceanaGold (Philippines), Inc. (OGP) to their respective communities.

Desiree Baldevino of OGP External Affairs and Communications said the company turned over the FMRs on December 21 and 23 to community leaders and residents.
She said that four villages in the Nueva Vizcaya municipalities of Dupax Del Norte, Bagabag, Diadi and Bambang received their FMR projects.
These were the ๐๐๐๐๐ฌ๐, ๐๐ฎ๐ฉ๐๐ฑ ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐: 288 meters of Portland cement concrete pavement with aggregate shoulder on both sides; ๐๐ฎ๐๐จ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก, ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ : Double Barrel box culvert with stone masonry wing wall, 122 meters of concrete pavement, and 117.5 meters of stone masonry retaining wall; ๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ , ๐๐ข๐๐๐ข: 180 meters of Portland cement concrete pavement with aggregate shoulder on both sides and a 30x14x0.15-meter multi-crop drying pavement; and ๐๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ง, ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ง๐ : 323 meters of Portland cement concrete pavement.




Baldevino also said that three villages in the municipalities of Aglipay and Cabarroguis in Quirino province will also benefit from new FMR projects.
These were the ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ, ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐๐ฒ: 262 meters of Portland Cement Concrete Pavement with aggregate shoulder on both sides, replacement of one-line reinforced concrete pipe culvert, stone masonry, and grouted riprap; ๐๐๐ง ๐๐๐ซ๐๐จ๐ฌ, ๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฌ: 249 meters of Portland Cement Concrete Pavement with 1-unit RCPC; and ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ซ, ๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฌ: 190.50 meters of Portland Cement Concrete Pavement with 101.50 meters of stone masonry slope protection and 2-unit RCPC.
Baldevino said these infrastructure projects which were funded through OGPโs Community Development Fund or CDF cost P3 million each.
โThese FMR projects aim to boost the local economy by improving accessibility for farmers and residents living in these communities,โ she said.
