DUPAX DEL SUR, Nueva Vizcaya—Authorities destroyed over P20 million worth of marijuana plants after discovering a plantation in Barangay Kimbutan, this town, on Tuesday morning (March 17).

According to the PNP Dupax del Sur report, over 10,311 marijuana plants cultivated on a 1,200 square meter land were burned and destroyed by police operatives.

The discovery of the plantation was based on information received by the police, which was immediately confirmed before the operation.

Led by Major Anthony Ayungo, this town’s PNP chief, the operation involved personnel from the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Intelligence Unit, and members of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Group.

“The plants were intentionally cultivated, with land preparation and cultivation done specifically for marijuana. The location is remote and difficult to access, requiring a long walk. It is not easily accessible to people,” Ayungo said.

Although no cultivators were found on site, the police ensured that all marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed to prevent them from being used by those who planted them. The authorities continue to monitor the area. TVJ NEWS TEAM
