DOMINGO TUGUEGARAO CITY (August 31)—The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 now covers 171 barangay (villages) in the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya, providing 13,203 information kits as well as livelihood kits to 385 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) affected by the coronavirus pandemic. DOMINGO TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (August 20)—The Department of Agriculture (DA) in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) has cautioned the public on the presence of the African swine fever (ASF) discovered in at least four towns in the province of Isabela. Narciso Edillo, DA-Region 2 executive director, said the new cases of ASF were recorded in the towns of Quezon, Roxas, Aurora and Luna. DOH confirms 66 new Covid positive cases in Region 2

VACCAY, PIA TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (August 11)—The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 2 has confirmed 66 additional cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Cagayan Valley, the highest number recorded in the daily confirmatory results released in the region. Region 2 Director Rio Magpantay of the DOH said 50 of the new cases are from Isabela province, 11 from Cagayan province, four from Nueva Vizcaya while Quirino province which was previously hailed as Covid-free now recorded one case.
