Cua pushes for country’s state of calamity extension

BICARME CABARROGUIS, Quirino (August 16)—The Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) President and Quirino Governor Dakila Carlo Cua recommended to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) to adopt a resolution recommending to President Duterte the extension of the declaration for at least four or six months. Cua said the state of calamity in the country is effective only until next month. Quirino records 1st Covid case

THE VALLEY JOURNAL CABARROGUIS, Quirino (August 12)—Gov. Dax Cua has confirmed the first coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) positive case making Batanes as the only province in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) with no recorded Covid-19 positive case yet. Cagayan Valley comprises the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Batanes and Quirino. Cua said this is the first Covid-19 positive case since the outbreak of the virus in mid-March.
