30 supporters withdraw allegiance to CPP-NPA in Isabela

BY MERLITO G. EDALE JR.

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (April 12)—At least 30 supporters from this province recently signified their official withdrawal of support to the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA).

Col. James Cipriano, Isabela Police chief, said the relentless efforts of police personnel in the province particularly in the conduct of community outreach projects and the community support programs of the Philippine Army have resulted in the surrender of the 30 CPP-MPA supporters.

“The surrender of the 30 CPP-NPA supporters was a result of our relentless campaigns against insurgency as embodied on President Duterte’s Executive Order No. 70 or the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict,” Cipriano said.

He said the pet project “Lingkod Bayanihan” of Police Regional Director Brig. Gen. Crizaldo Nieves has been effective since there were already a number of CPP-NPA supporters who have surrendered to local authorities in the province.
