SANTIAGO CITY (May 30)—At least 53 households ravaged by Typhoon Ulysses last year in the municipalities of Cabagan and Sto. Tomas and the city of Cauayan in Isabela province received home repair kits from the renewable energy solutions provider SN Aboitiz Power-Magat (SNAP-Magat).
In a press statement, SNAP-Magat said each beneficiary received through “Project Rebuild” a home repair kit worth around P6,500 consisting of galvanized iron sheets, hollow blocks, cement, and roofing nails.
The Isabela Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) has coordinated with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of each affected town to determine the list of beneficiaries.
SNAP-Magat said some 80 households in the towns of Amulung and Enrile in Cagayan province are also slated to receive the same assistance next month.
A fundraising project launched by SNAP in December 2020 through the Aboitiz Foundation’s “Kinder” app, Project Rebuild has successfully raised P807,000 to help families in priority areas in Isabela and Cagayan whose homes were damaged by Typhoon Ulysses which hit the area in November last year.
The turnover of the house construction materials was held on May 19 for Cabagan and Cauayan, and on May 21 for Sto. Tomas, following strict safety measures to protect against coronavirus disease 2019 as mandated by the government and as provided under SNAP-Magat’s own company protocols.
