BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya (April 16) —Mayor Pepito Balgos here has placed six barangays (villages) under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) following the surge of coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19) cases.
Balgos’ Executive Order No. 9 Series of 2021 placed villages of Calaocan, Banggot, Buag and Homestead in the town proper and adjacent villages of Almaguer North and Almaguer South under ECQ from April 16 to 30.
“Contrary to hearsays and unverified reports, there is no total lockdown in our municipality. The need to balance the present health crisis with our economic activity is of utmost importance,” Balgos stressed in his EO.
He also appealed to the public to refrain from circulating fake news as it will do no good to the people.
The EO also bans videoke bars, buying and selling of liquors, mass gatherings and gambling while necrological services, funerals and wakes are allowed upon request and in adherence to minimum health protocols in coordination with the local government unit.
It also ordered the implementation of curfew from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. including the establishment of checkpoints to control and regulate the movement of villagers.
The LGU will also maintain its 50 percent workforce so as not to hamper public services.
The order also prohibited business and recreational activities along the by-pass road including the scheduling of market days.
As of April 13, Bambang has 267 Covid-19 active cases and 13 deaths.
