NVizcaya vice gov Tomas celebrates 64th birthday cum tree planting

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (January 6)—Friends and supporters have joined Vice Gov. Jose “Tam-an” Tomas in celebrating his 64th birthday with tree-planting activities.

“Today marks another memorable day of my life as it has been my tradition whenever I celebrate [my] birthday,” said Tomas, a first termer vice-governor and presiding officer of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board).

This coming May 2022 elections, Tomas decided to run for governor of Nueva Vizcaya filing his certificate of candidacy or CoC on October 1, 2021.

He said every year, on this day, he plants trees which to him symbolizes hope and signifies their love for mother nature.

“And this year, I chose to plant cacao seedlings. Leaving behind these trees in their full glory when they grow up strikes to me as one of the legacies a man should have in this world for the future generations,” Tomas said.

“For my 64th birthday, I want to thank the Lord of his Divine Intervention from the day I was born up to this day. For all my endeavors in my life until the end, all glory belongs to Him,” he added.

Tomas said he draws his strength to continue serving the people from his family which also includes the whole Tam-an Banaue Multi-Purpose Cooperative or Tam-an BPMC family.

Tam-an BPMC is a premier cooperative in the Cagayan Valley region which Tomas established 30 years ago and has grom an initial 24 members with an initial capitalization of P25,000 to more than 200,000 members regionwide with P3 billion in assets.

“I thank so much my family and the Tam-an BPMC officers and members for their utmost support and partnership in serving the people, and to all people who have been there supporting me from the beginning, my heartfelt gratitude to all of you,” Tomas said during the tree planting activity at Tam-an Farm in Busilac village in this town.

“This day is significant. Tomorrow is uncertain. But the day after tomorrow will definitely be wonderful by God’s grace and mercy,” he added.

Joining the tree planting activity at Tam-an Farm in Busilac village in this town were Benjie Lucas and retired Col. Edgar Daniel Jr., both are gunning for Board Member of Nueva Vizcaya South District come May 2022 elections.
