Eden Integrated School, Didipio Mine commemorate National Heroes Day

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (August 29)—The Didipio Mine joined Eden Integrated Scchool in commemorating the National Hereos Day by recognizing educators as modern-day heroes.

With this, the Didipio Mine has collaborated with Barangay (village) Eden officials, teachers of Eden Integrated School and village residents for their tree planting activity and outreach program.

Didipio Mine officials said more than a hundred seedlings were planted along the road from Eden Integrated School going to and around Barangay Eden’s hot spring site.

School supplies were also distributed to 270 students of Barangay Eden from daycare to Grade 10.

Kent Weastell, Didipio Mine senior advisor for external affairs and social performance systems, and the mine’s External Affairs and Communications team were warmly welcomed by Eden village officials headed by Barangay Captain Reynaldo Marso, and Eden Integrated School Principal Lorna Carbonel who also spearheaded the activity.

“The event was made possible because of the zeal of the caring educators of Barangay Eden. It has been an honor working side by side with our modern-day heroes,” Weastell said. (LCD)
