4 Cagayan pastors coronavirus-positive

DOMINGO TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (August 17, 2020)—Four religious leaders playing a pivotal role to combat the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic were confirmed positive of the disease after they attended a prayer meeting led by a bishop in Kalinga province. They were among the 18 newly confirmed coronavirus-positive cases admitted at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC), according to Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, CVMC chief. Baggao said the four pastors were fetched by an ambulance from Kalinga after their August 12 second swab tests came out positive of the virus. ‘Exempt frontliners from taxes’

Cagayan Valley Covid cases jump to 510

DOMINGO BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya (August 13)—Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) surged above 500 on Wednesday, with the addition of 15 new cases, according to the Department of Health (DoH). The DoH said the new case brings the Cagayan Valley region’s total Covid-19 recorded cases to 510, none of which is recorded as new cases for the National Capital Region. DOH Regional Director Rio Magpantay said five of the cases are from the City of Ilagan, followed by four cases each in Tumauini and Cauayan City, two cases each in Angadanan, Cabatuan, Cordon, Echague and San Mariano while Cabagan, Gamu and Jones towns also have one case each.
