BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (May 13)—Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go extended aid to typhoon-hit residents here as part of the senator’s ongoing efforts to provide support for the recovery of communities affected by Typhoon “Ulysses” that hit Cagayan Valley last year.

On Thursday, Go’s outreach team held relief activities which were conducted in small batches and under strict compliance with the necessary health and safety protocols.

The team also provided meals, food packs, vitamins, masks and face shields to a total of 200 beneficiaries.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided livelihood assistance grants (LAG) to the beneficiaries under its sustainable livelihood program (SLP).

Go, through a video message, urged the beneficiaries to maximize the assistance provided and use it to rebuild their livelihoods to better support their community.

He thanked the DSWD for its SLP-LAG program which provides capital to beneficiaries and for assisting recipients on how to do business.

“Palaguin niyo po ito at dalhin niyo po ang kita sa inyong pamilya. Siguraduhin niyo lang po na gagamitin niyo po sa tama. Mas masarap po sa pakiramdam kapag pinagpawisan at pinagpaguran po natin ang ating kinikita. Dalhin niyo po ito sa inyong pamilya, lalong-lalo na po sa panahon ngayon, hirap po ang lahat,” Go told beneficiaries.

The team from the senator’s office also distributed new shoes. Some were given bicycles for travel needs. Tablets were distributed for use under the blended learning setup.

Go said those who need urgent medical care seek aid from Malasakit Centers.
