QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya (March 7)—An audit conducted by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) in Region 2 shows that the London-based mining company here has been determined to be compliant.

According to the Mine Safety, Environment, and Social Development Division (MSESDD) of MGB Region 2, the FCF Minerals Corp. has been determined to be compliant in the implementation of its Integrated Safety and Health, Environment, and Social Development System (ISHES) mandatory requirements and compliance.

Director Mario Ancheta of the MGB Region 2 said the bureau sent seven technical personnel from the MSESDD to conduct an ISHES audit for the calendar year 2022 at FCF Minerals Corp. in Barangay (village) Runruno, Quezon town in Nueva Vizcaya from February 27 to March 3, 2023.

He explained that the ISHES audit determines the level of FCF’s accomplishments and compliance with financial or technical assistance agreement or FTAA terms and conditions, regulatory laws, rules and regulations for safety and health, environmental management, and social development.

Ancheta said the ISHES audit at FCF Minerals used the standard monitoring system (SMS) consisting of the standardized monitoring checklist (SMC) and compliance scorecard (SC).

This system is in accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 2018-02 known as “Guidelines for Compliance Monitoring and Rating/Scorecard of Mining Permits/Contracts,” he added.
