London-based Runruno Gold Project trains workers for safety

QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya (December 6, 2023)—To empower safety, the London-based FCF Minerals Corp. conducted First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) in-house training for mine workers in Runruno village.

The training was led by the company’s Occupational Safety and Health Department Empowering Safety: FCF Minerals Corporation’s OSH Department Conducts First Aid and BLS In-House Training.

Rodalyn Arcebal, FCF Information, Education and Communication (IEC) supervisor, said the two-day intensive in-house training session zeroed in on the critical subjects of first aid and BLS, incorporating practical simulations.

Arcebal said a total of 11 dedicated FCF employees participated in the BLS training at the Medic Shed of the Runruno Gold Project (RGP) site on November 29-30, 202.

“Upon the successful completion of the training, participants were presented with certificates, recognizing their commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of the FCF community,” she said.

Lorne Harvey, FCF Corporation general manager for operations, said the training aims to equip participants with the skills “to promptly and effectively respond to medical emergencies, reduce the severity of injuries, and potentially save lives.”

“Beyond individual skill enhancement, the training contributes significantly to fostering a safer work environment and elevating the overall emergency preparedness of the mining company,” Harvey added. LEANDER C. DOMINGO
