Mayor Josemarie Diaz, who led the soft opening yesterday together with other city officials and employees, said the immediate opening of the isolation facility located at the City of Ilagan Medical Center at Barangay Lullutan, is necessary since all the referral hospitals in the region have reached their 100 percent utilization. NV health workers to receive Bayanihan fund benefits

EBREO BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (January 8)—Health workers here who are directly in contact with COVID-19 patients are expected to receive additional benefits through the national government’s Bayanihan 2 Fund. Dr. Edwin Galapon, provincial health officer, said the Department of Health (DOH) has already approved the P15 million budget for the provincial government’s health workers. “These benefits are on top of the regular hazard pay of our health workers. BACCAY, PIA TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (September 18)—The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) has reported a total of 19 death cases related to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the Cagayan Valley region. Dr. Karina Joy Peca-at said 10 of the cases are from Nueva Vizcaya, five in Isabela, one in Santiago City, three in Cagayan and none in Quirino province. Peca-at said there are additional 56 positive cases from different provinces of the region which increased the total Covid-19 cases in the Cagayan Valley region to 1,305 in which 439 are active while 847 have already recovered.
