Davao Light to build digital substation in Panabo

BY LEANDER C. DOMINGO RAMON, Isabela (August 17)—A new digital substation in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, will be built by the AboitizPower subsidiary Davao Light and Power Co. Inc. (Davao Light). According to Janelle Jacinto, AboitizPower Corporate Branding and Communication unit head, Davao Light is setting up the substation in Panabo City, their fourth facility. The Panabo substation will have a capacity of 33 megavolt-amperes. BFAR builds eel stocks in Cagayan River

DOMINGO ILAGAN, Isabela (August 17)—To ensure the sustainable supply of eel fish resources in the wild, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) has spearheaded the stocking of glass eels along tributaries of the Cagayan River. Vee Jay Ujano of the BFAR-Provincial Fishery Office (PFO) Isabela said the eel dispersal activity is under the stock enhancement component of BFAR-PFO's Balik Sigla sa Ilog at Lawa program. "This aims to replenish depleted stocks caused by overfishing and other anthropological activities and natural disasters in the region," Ujano said. Field training officer cop shot dead

BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya: A police officer was shot dead by motorcycle-riding suspects on Saturday, August 13, 2022, a police report said. In a police short message service report from this town's police station, the victim was identified as Police Senior Master Sergeant Aldwin Aspacio James, 43, the field training officer of the said police station. James is a resident of Govt Center Subdivision in Baguio City.
