British mine firm cited for safe operations

P58-M JICA loan projects completed

DOMINGO BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (MAY 28)—Four Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)-funded agroforestry support facilities worth P58.3 million have been turned over to three Southern Nueva Vizcaya municipalities, according to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Corie Corpuz, a Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) information officer, said the facilities were constructed under the DENR's Forestland Management Project (FMP). DA-Region 2 gives 4,316 free range chicken in Cagayan

DA REGION 2 PHOTO TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (May 27)—The Livestock Program of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 2 (DA-RFO2) completed the distribution of 4,316 heads of free range chickens to farmers in eight towns in the province. These were the municipalities of Aparri, Amulung, Alcala, Gonzaga, Penablanca, Gattaran, Tuao and Enrile that were heavily affected by typhoon Ulysses. "The poultry farmers were heavily hit by typhoon Ulysses. This is to rehabilitate the chicken industry in those areas," Demetrio Gumiran, DA-RFO2 Livestock Program head, said.
